Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is seeking student centered individuals with a passion for teaching doctoral students in an immersive virtual environment to add to our doctoral adjunct faculty. Selected candidates will teach and may design/update course(s) for the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program. The courses are delivered in the eight-week virtual format. Preference will be given to candidates with doctoral teaching and/or global industry experience. The Ph.D. in Global Leadership course offerings are located in the  graduate catalog. 

  Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Work with the program director to develop new or update current courses
• Availability to deliver the 8-week course in the virtual format and include two, virtual synchronous sessions
• Provide prompt grading and response time to student requests
• Create and deliver all courses using Canvas (Learning Management System)
• Develop and/or utilize program and course learning objectives and assessment tools
• Complete an annual faculty assessment
• Willingness to complete, grow from, and utilize the StrengthsFinder and Global Mindset assessments (provided through the Global Leadership Department) 
• Demonstrate both a growth and global mindset
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in using computer technology including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Highly recommended attendance at the annual spring Ph.D. in Global Leadership Program Engagement event (some travel reimbursement provided)
• Adjunct Faculty members are expected to adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the SMWC Faculty handbook and the Ph.D. in Global Leadership Handbook
• Complete Ph.D. in Global Leadership Faculty onboarding/training
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Doctoral/Terminal degree in global leadership, leadership, business, or a related field
• Experience with course development preferred but not required
• Experience using a learning management system such as Canvas, Blackboard, or D2L preferred but not required
• Demonstrated experience incorporating technology in instructional practices
