Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - Ph.D uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a PhD in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - Ph.D requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - Ph.D works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. - PSYCHOLOGIST QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
•
Degree -Shall be current and fully certified or licensed as a practicing Psychologist from an accredited United States educational institution.
•
Valid License from any state within the United States and shall provide evidence of such licensure.
•
The Contractor shall be certified with Degree in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and have at least 15 years' experience providing suicide prevention/intervention including leading suicide responses to suicide clusters and conducting psychological autopsies on American Indian reservations related to suicide deaths.
•
The Contractor must have 15 years' experience working with Native American individuals and families, and preferably have familiarity with cultural aspects of the Shoshone Paiute Indian Tribes of Nevada.
•
The Contractor must have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in order to coordinate care for patients receiving residential treatment at DBT-oriented facilities.
•
The Contractor must have experience providing suicide prevention training (e.g., Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), ASIST, Mental Health First Aid) to Native American health care providers and community members.
•
Basic Life Support Certification is required.
Services will initially be for two to three (2-3) weeks of full day on-site clinic time. Then a full week (5 days) of work on-site two (2) weeks later and then once a week every month for the base year of service. An estimated 15 weeks of service annually
Typical clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
