Public Relations Director directs and implements a company's public relations strategies. Manages media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities. Being a Public Relations Director evaluates and authorizes all forms of communication regarding the organization for release to the public. Develops press releases, white papers and supporting materials. Additionally, Public Relations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Public Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Development and Public Relations Director plans and executes fundraising activities, records donations, and secures funds through grants and sponsorship methods. Responsible for coordinating and planning public relations and community development activities. In addition, responsibilities include crafting media releases and marketing material. Position requires strong grant writing skills and the ability to establish and maintain good, cooperative relationships with the news media, consumers, local community and other public-interest groups. Additional responsibilities include maintaining website management and social media marketing. The position calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining a maximum level of confidentiality, project coordination, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management including residents, staff and board of directors of Girls’ Haven.
Education, Licensure and/or Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Preferred: One year of grant writing and fundraising experience.

Valid driver's license.

Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
