    As a Associate Director of Public Relations, you will be responsible for developing the overall direction for editorial content, while maintaining the high quality expected for all Buckner publications. This role is the key driver in growing an the Buckner audience while deepening engagement and brand loyalty.

    You will make a difference by:

    • Support the Director of Public Relations and other members of the Communications Team to strategize and implement a comprehensive public relations plan supporting the programs of Buckner International.
    • Create and lead strategies leveraging owned content in support of integrated public relations and marketing campaigns.
    • Oversee editorial content development and production for current Buckner publications, including print and digital; manage editorial calendar.
    • Develop the direction for Buckner editorial content and distribution strategy; audit trends on new media and platforms.
    • Lead new content idea generation through regular collaboration with Buckner program staff.
    • Support the growth of online traffic and print circulation for Buckner publications; deepen audience engagement and brand loyalty through impactful content targeting key stakeholders.
    • Work with the Director of Video Production on video ideation and production, including writing scripts for videos.
    • Produce thought leader and opinion articles capturing the voice and ideas of Buckner leadership.
    • Write scripts for internal and external events produced by Buckner to engage and inspire stakeholders.
    • Provide additional writing and copy-editing support, including internal communications, white papers, annual reports, and more.
    • Take high quality photos to accompany print and digital articles.
    • Manage freelance writers and photographers.
    • Publish Nuestra Familia, an annual Spanish-language newsletter through fluency in Spanish or managing freelance translators.
    • Develop and maintain key content performance analytics.
    • Travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed to monitor, assess and help develop programs and projects.

    As a Associate Director of Public Relations, you must:

    • Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor's degree with emphasis in journalism, communications, professional writing or other related field. Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, professional writing or related field required.
    • Knowledge and experience of journalistic communications and public relations assignments preferred; knowledge of social networking, basic html and digital photography preferred.
    • Skills include, but are not limited to, writing, and editing for print and online media, interviewing, and organizational skills.
    • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite on the Windows platform.
    • Proficient ability to write content for news and marketing publications and material; requires proficient ability to exhibit professional photography skills to provide pictorial content for marketing publications and material.
    • Travel to various geographic locations, both domestically and internationally, with some overnight stays in support of writing assignments. Requires ability to obtain and maintain current documentation for international travel.
