    Charter Schools Now (CSN) is the advocacy arm of the public charter school community in Texas. Its mission is to support and advocate for public charter schools to ensure every family has the ability to choose a high-quality public school.

    A. Job Summary

    The Director of Donor Relations will work with the Senior Director of Donor Relations to advance the Association’s mission by implementing a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program. The position requires excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.

    B. Essential Job Functions

    The Director of Donor Relations will focus on North and West Texas, emphasizing the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Midland metro regions.

    • Contribute to TPCSA/CSN’s annual fundraising goals by securing donations from individuals and foundations in the metro regions
    • Work with the Development Project Manager to identify prospective donors and secure meetings with them
    • Build donor circles in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Midland
    • Grow relationships with donors and steward long-term donor relationships
    • Work with the Senior Director of Donor Relations to implement new projects and initiatives for TPCSA/CSN’s donor stewardship program
    • Support the use of our fundraising CRM, helping to fully leverage its moves management capabilities to win friends and generate new funding
    • Routine functions also include:
    • Nurture donor relationships through regular touchpoints
    • Track and report fundraising metrics for donors
    • Draft proposal documents and other key communications
    • Track communications via fundraising software

    C. Expectations

    • This is a full-time, exempt position. Employees are generally expected to work a 40-hour work week, with an understanding that occasionally, there will be times when 50 or more hours a week may be required to complete projects. This position requires occasional travel, primarily within the state of Texas. Given this role’s focus on donor relationships, success will include frequent in-person visits, attendance at community and school events, and other opportunities to make personal connections.

    D. Qualifications

    • You have 3 years of experience as a fundraiser, with a strong background in education reform, political, or public policy fundraising; experience in DFW is preferred.
    • You’re an outgoing, enthusiastic advocate for quality public education for all children. Knowledge of charter schools and the charter movement is preferred, though not required.
    • You have demonstrated success in building relationships and rallying supporters.
