Public Relations Director directs and implements a company's public relations strategies. Manages media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities. Being a Public Relations Director evaluates and authorizes all forms of communication regarding the organization for release to the public. Develops press releases, white papers and supporting materials. Additionally, Public Relations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Public Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. This position provides clinic services for health department personal health programs. It will assist in all clinic areas: TB, STD/HIV, Communicable Disease, Immunizations, Family Planning, and Preparedness. Other duties are as follow:
May coordinate a specific program and /or work as an enhanced role nurse in a specific program.
May be responsible for the coordination of a program and answer directly to the clinic manager.
May train for and practice as enhanced role nurse in one or more programs, especially STD ERRN.
Interviews clients for all programs - obtaining complete patient history, vital signs and assessment for problems.
Counsels patients appropriately ensuring thorough understanding of all clinic procedures, treatments, medications, instructions.
Distributes educational information based on client need and/or preventive health issues.
Explains birth control methods, administers/dispenses medication, explains lab and/or exam findings, documents in chart.
Assists in communicable disease/HIV pre- and post-test counseling, and other duties as needed.
Provides adult and childhood immunizations. Assists with pharmacy inventory and pharmacy duties, packaging and dispensing as needed.
Assists all clinic programs in the follow-up of clients with abnormal labs, pap smears, etc.
Assists with Preparedness activities such as communicable disease follow-up and /or delivery of DOT, mass prophylaxis, etc. where extra nursing support is needed.
Acts as a backup for employee health in relation to maintaining employee immunization records and ensuring employees are up-to-date.
Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from a 4 year college or university with a BSN which includes a public health rotation; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's or Master's is preferred.
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in NC by the NCBON
Valid NC Driver License
