Public Relations Director directs and implements a company's public relations strategies. Manages media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities. Being a Public Relations Director evaluates and authorizes all forms of communication regarding the organization for release to the public. Develops press releases, white papers and supporting materials. Additionally, Public Relations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Public Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Strategic Goals:
· To develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.
· To communicate LCDA’s mission, achievements, and activities to the public.
· To support the entire LCDA team in accomplishing organizational goals.
Essential Functions:
· Develop annual marketing plan.
· Develop and manage a marketing budget relative to the implementation of the marketing strategy and annual plan.
· Collect, interpret, and analyze industry, market and community data to identify and respond to trends and potential issues.
· Create new, enhanced industrial marketing and recruitment materials for all Authority properties.
· Create comprehensive presentations for prospects, tradeshows, Authority Board, and public meetings.
· Develop promotional concepts for prospects, site selectors, project managers.
· Identify promotional gifts and maintain inventory for prospects, visitors, or events.
· Update and monitor the Authority’s website to increase visibility and utilization.
· Prepare advertising materials for digital and print publications.
· Monitor and update community data for outside agency databases.
· Maintain contact database for site selection consultants, project managers, and brokers.
· Plan and implement a semiannual Industry Appreciation Reception and activities for Manufacturer’s Week observance and develop other meaningful promotional opportunities to meet goals and achieve the Authority’s mission.
· Submit applications for Industry Award Programs.
· Maximize and manage social media for the Authority, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn.
· Prepare quarterly newsletters and annual or semiannual reports highlighting the Authority’s achievements, programs, and industries.
· Draft press releases and pitch stories highlighting the assets and advantages of business location in Liberty County to local, state, and national business news sources.
· Coordinate announcements, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, or other events as necessary to include invitations, talking points, Audio/Visual, signage, décor, etc.
· Partner with other local agencies to promote Liberty County.
· Support site visits and prospect meetings in whatever way necessary.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years of professional marketing and public relations experience required.
· Economic development experience preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· Website management experience required.
· Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
· Salesforce experience preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
