  • MHC Healthcare is seeking a Development and Public Relations Assistant to join the administration team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Development and Public Relations Assistant helps to build and maintain the organization’s brand and public and digital image on social media platforms, participates in development of fundraising solicitations, provides administrative support for development and public relations activities, organizes and attends community events, manages marketing collateral materials, and develops and manages media relations.
    MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

    The following qualifications are required:
    • Associate degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field
    • 2 years’ development, public relations (PR), or marketing experience in a healthcare or non-profit setting
    • Experience creating and tracking content on social media platforms
    • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC)
    The following qualifications are preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field
    • Experience with web content management systems such as WordPress
    • Experience with donor/client communications
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

    This position has the following supervisory responsibility:
    Does not direct or supervise others.

    • Working knowledge of graphic design programs including Canva, Acrobat DC and video editing programs.
    • Ability to cultivate a culture of respect and service excellence through professionalism, skilled communication, and demonstrated commitment to integrity, trust, respect, and equity.
    • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.
    • Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Develops creative content for daily postings on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) and the company website, based on organizational priorities and highlights.
    • Collaborates with staff and partners to provide meaningful content on social media platforms.
    • Monitors, listens, and responds to comments from social media channels and the website as appropriate.
    • Researches social media trends to provide recommendations for best practices and remain current on social media strategies.
    • Provides administrative support to Executive Director of Development.
    • Organizes, tracks, and orders promotional materials, brochures, and other visuals for events, marketing, and development.
    • Assists with the production of development solicitations and collateral materials.
    • Creates stewardship communications to cultivate and retain donors.
    • Monitors opportunities for advertising and manages process for scheduling advertisements.
    • Manages estimates and purchasing process for marketing and development design work and assists with development of marketing materials.
    • Analyzes events and campaign results, prepares summary reports, and communicates results with supervisor to plan goals and develop social media strategies to support campaigns, events, and initiatives.
    • Collaborates with internal staff and external partners to develop, organize, coordinate, and host health fairs, open houses, receptions, and other special events.
    • Provides promotional and logistical support for special events, community outreach projects, health fairs, career fairs, and other community outreach activities.
