    AWARE seeks a goal-oriented and creative Marketing & Community Relations Manager to help us devise an effective marketing strategy and manage our communications and community engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Development & Marketing, this role is responsible for building awareness and support for AWARE’s wide range of community-based mental and behavioral health, human service programs, to drive engagement, referrals, client impact, and community support.


    AWARE provides an opportunity to innovate and work creatively in a mission driven and inclusive culture. The manager will provide leadership, strategic vision and direction to the marketing and communication efforts. The successful candidate will be a key hands-on contributor who will oversee developing creative tactics to reach our target audience by guiding our social media strategy and advertisement campaigns, designing public programs and events (non-fundraising), contacting outreach organizations, and managing AWARE’s website. You should bring expertise in multi-channel platforms with a willingness to learn and the excitement to creatively story tell to promote diverse service lines and the impact of the work we do in Montana.


    Serving over 5,000 Montanans across all 56 counties with more than 800 employees, AWARE is a complex agency, and this highly visible position offers a unique combination of marketing challenge and social impact. This position works across the agency, with a close collaboration with the development team, and with external partners.


    In the long run, our goal is to grow our brand, attract new donors and subscribers, and promote healthy relations with our business partners. You will help us facilitate this by managing community outreach programs, maintaining our digital presence, and building our brand.


    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Devise an effective nonprofit marketing and promotion strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop and execute communication strategies that drive measurable outcomes ensuring communication efforts align with achieving tangible goals.
    • Coordinate social media strategy and execution. Implement fresh ideas and storytelling techniques to enhance the organization's impact. Maintain a calendar and manage diverse content formats.
    • Spearhead impactful outreach initiatives and events that resonate with AWARE’s mission.
    • Oversee content production (print & digital) to ensure brand compliance and messaging consistency.
    • Manage marketing budget to ensure maximum cost-efficiency.
    • Coordinate INK, AWARE’s Monthly e-newsletter to support advocacy and connection with supporters.
    • Manage AWARE’s website.
    • Brand management, including online store, promotional items and all printed collateral
    • Collaborate with Director to support strategic communications planning, including building relationships for media coverage and influencer partnerships.
    • Use analytics to refine strategies and measure communication and marketing effectiveness. Report monthly as part of the Development & Marketing Vitals.
    • Manage Chamber memberships and effectively utilize marketing tools made available through memberships.
    • Support AWARE’s development team with communications strategies and plans to support campaigns, including but not limited to GivingTuesday, AWARE Day and online giving days.
    • Manage AWARE’s photo library.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Management.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Exceptional time management, problem-solving abilities and ability to work collaboratively on a team.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • A demonstrated passion for storytelling and a history of engaging in it.
    • Ability to maintain effective cross-sector communication.
    • Familiarity with current nonprofit marketing and fundraising practices..
    • Ability to effectively work with a diverse range of people and groups, both internally and externally.
    • Ability to develop and manage communication budgets.
    • Must possess strong strategic thinking abilities to anticipate trends and align communication plans with organizational objectives.
    • Must be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.


    Preferred Skills:

    • Credible work experience in a nonprofit organization
    • Portfolio of successful marketing/branding projects
    • Design Skills (Canva and/or Adobe)
