The Patient Relations Specialist serves the patients, families, and staff of Manatee Memorial Hospital to provide guidance and support with the goal of building and maintaining a high-quality patient experience. This position is a resource for patients, families, visitors and staff for interpretation and education of patient rights and responsibilities. This position functions in compliance with Manatee Memorial Hospital policy; The Joint Commission and CMS guidelines as they pertain the receipt, documentation and response to patient complaints and grievances.

• The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills. Fluent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with medical scheduling software desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communicate clearly and openly.
• Resolve complaints, grievances and other official requests and correspondence.
• Responds to requests by the patients, physicians and support personnel.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated professional success in conflict resolution, mediation and/or crises communication and resolution and should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Notary Public Certification Preferred: Bilingual preferred.
