Public School Teacher prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a K-12 classroom setting. Being a Public School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Public School Teacher participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Middle School Math & Science Teacher Heartwood Public Charter School Heartwood Public Charter School is seeking a Middle School Science and Math teacher at our Nature-based and Place-based school. In the 2024-2025 school year, this teacher will be responsible for teaching 6th and 7th Grade math and science and working with administration to lay the foundation for the Heartwood Middle School experience. As our school grows to include Grade 8 in the 2025-2026 school year, the successful candidate will teach math and science for grades 7 and 8. Heartwood has a four-day school week for students, leaving a whole day each week for teachers to plan, prepare, and collaborate. Salary: $ 45,006 No health benefits at this time. Teacher Responsibilities -Nurture relationships with each student and family -Guide student learning in math and science -Plan and deliver project-based Fieldwork experiences -Work with school administration and Middle School team to develop science curriculum and Middle School culture for grades 6-8. -Work closely as a team with the Middle School ELA & Social Studies Teacher -Monitor and guide students in goal setting and organization -Adapt place-based & nature-based methods and curriculum to the New Hampshire State Competencies and vice versa -Partner with colleagues, administration, and families to meet the needs of students -Observe and track student progress, keep records, and work with the learning coordinator to maintain individualized learning plans and to complete progress reports -Conduct assessments -Implement Individualized Education Plans -Lead conferences with families -Participate in professional development, including training in Place-based education -Maintain a safe, respectful, positive, organized, and clean classroom environment -Facilitate student discussions regarding safety and appropriate behavior within the school environment and out in the community -Act as a mandated reporter for suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc. -Model Heartwood’s values in visible daily actions -Fulfill any other responsibilities deemed relevant and necessary to the position Teacher Qualifications -Meet required state and federal background checks -Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university -NH teaching license -Experience with or willingness to learn more about: -Teaching math and science through inquiry -Project-based learning -Place-Based Education -Nature-based Curriculum -Alternative educational frameworks in a public school setting -Positive discipline and positive behavior supports -Competence in teaching, classroom management, and all related responsibilities -Enthusiastic, creative, and loving authority with students -Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and families -Ability to collaborate with local businesses, individuals, and community partners to plan and coordinate activities and learning experiences -Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
