Public Transportation Inspector jobs in Kingsport, TN

Kelly Consulting, LLC (www.kconllc.com) is currently hiring an Entry Level Construction Inspector for construction of a new two-lane highway and bridge in Buchanan County (Grundy), Virginia.

What you will do:

Work under the direction of a senior construction inspector performing quality control inspection and testing, including the following:

• Monitor contractor compliance with contract, plans, and specifications
• Perform field inspection of contractor’s work
• Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations
• Write daily inspection reports and complete daily checklists
• Perform material field tests and document results

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications for the position (including but not limited to OSHA 10 Hour; Nuclear Gauge and Hazmat Safety; ACI Concrete Field Testing; VDOT Soil & Aggregate Compaction, Asphalt Field Level I & II, Hydraulic Cement Concrete, Pavement Marking, Slurry Surfacing, Surface Treatment, Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control, GRIT; and VDEQ Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Inspector)
• Microsoft Office experience
• Excellent Organization, Decision Making, Time Management, and Verbal and Written Communication skills
• Willing to work day and night shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds; reach horizontally and vertically for required tasks; and sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions
• Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record
• Legal right to work in the US
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test
