    We are looking for Construction Inspectors of all levels with Bridge and Roadway construction experience to join our growing team... We are constantly winning new contracts and are looking for new inspectors to staff these projects.  We are currently hiring for multiple open positions.


    We have immediate openings for Construction Inspectors and Sr. Construction Inspectors with Bridge and Roadway experience for VDOT and Local Government projects in the VDOT Hampton Roads District, and specifically focused in the Western/Rural area of the District. Seeking highly qualified and experienced transportation Construction Inspector desired whom have worked on VDOT, locality and/or Design-Build projects.  The Inspector is responsible for managing and performing daily construction management and inspection services for various types of VDOT and locality transportation projects.  Must have experience in transportation construction, have VDOT certifications, be proficient at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings as well as overseeing construction document controls and enforcing contract compliance.

    Discipline: Transportation (Highway, Bridge, and Maintenance)

    Requirements:

    • Inspectors must have a minimum of three (3) years of specific field construction inspection experience in the specified areas listed below
    • Senior Inspectors must have a minimum of six (6) years of specific field construction inspection experience in the specified areas listed below
    • Must have a High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate.  Bachelor's Degree or other advanced certificate desirable
    • Inspection Skills:
      1. Applicants must have demonstrated inspection and management experience with roadway and bridge construction, utility construction, and related pavement rehabilitation projects requiring monitoring a contractor's work for conformance to the design plans, specifications and general permit requirements
      2. Must have experience in coordinating inspection duties with multiple simultaneously operating crews
      3. Must have experience tracking daily quantities, completing daily inspection reports, performing monthly estimates and as-built drawings
      4. Experience with SiteManager and PlanGrid preferred
      5. Experience working on interstate bridge projects desired  
    • Additional Training or Certifications - candidates are required to possess all the certifications below at the time of hire or the applicable certifications required for client assignments.  
      1. VDOT Soil and Aggregate Compaction (or NICET LEVEL II)
      2. VDOT Asphalt Field Level I & II
      3. VDOT Pavement Marking
      4. VDOT Slurry Surfacing
      5. VDOT Surface Treatment
      6. VDOT GRIT
      7. VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control & Flagger with LEO
      8. ACI Concrete Testing Technician Level I
      9. DEQ Certification for Erosion and Sediment Control Inspection
      10. DEQ Certification for Stormwater Management Certification
      11. Nuclear Gauge Safety Training
      12. OSHA - 10 Hour Safety Training
    • Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
    • Must have good communication skills
    • Must have the ability to read/interpret plans and specifications
    • Must have writing and drawing skills necessary to complete inspection reports and documentation
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are required
    • Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment
