Public Transportation Inspector jobs in Olympia, WA

Public Transportation Inspector inspects and compiles information concerning activities and conduct of employees on public railroads, streetcars, and buses and submits written reports of findings. May require an associate's degree with at least 4 years of experience in the field. Being a Public Transportation Inspector is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.   • JOB SUMMARY:

    • Review approved construction drawings and specifications.
    • Communicate and maintain a good working relationship with contractor workers and foreman, superintendent, project manager, project structural engineer and building inspectors.
    • Perform Geotechnical observations and inspections continuously or periodically as required to verify conformance to approved documents.
    • Write concise electronic inspection reports and submit completed reports to recipients.
    • Communicate with the office to report inspection observations and scheduling.

    Pay Ranges from $25-$40hr, depending on experience and qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • WAQTC (IPD’s) (CTT) (ASPH II) (AGG Method B) (Sampling)
    • ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification preferred
    • WSDOT Inspector Certification
    • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working on transportation projects (Airport, Transit, Highway, and Bridges)
    • Experience should include earthwork, drainage, soil nail walls, and Geotechnical drilling.
    • Must have availability to work nights/weekends.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to work in inclement weather.
    • Ability to read structural plans and specifications.
    • Successful completion of application process
