Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Localization Project Manager and working collaboratively with technical writing staff to prepare for release both printed and electronic Instructions For Use (IFUs) for ZOLL’s resuscitation products. These products include professional defibrillators, automatic external defibrillators, ventilators, circulation units, and accessories.
Essential Functions:
Act as liaison to facilitate communication between Localization Project Manager, translation provider, Product Management, and technical writing staff.
Copy edit English source language IFUs as well as localized material.
Incorporate newly localized documentation from translation provider into localized IFUs.
Track progress of IFUs through the release process into production.
Ensure that IFUs are reviewed, approved, and released in conformance with ZOLL’s standard release process.
Skills Requirements:
Requires an attention to detail and strong organizational ability as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a team player with effective relationship and team-building skills.
Prior copy editing experience is a plus.
Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks/projects according to business needs.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as English or Communications.
Experience as a technical writer, or the completion of a Technical Writing degree or Technical Writing certificate program is a plus.
Familiarity with industry-standard publishing tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, and Illustrator is required; familiarity with single sourcing software such as MadCap Flare is desirable.
