Punch Press Operator jobs in Albany, GA
Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Details
Duties / Responsibilities :
Reviews job requirements to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
Prepares, aligns, and configures machinery, ink, rollers, and paper.
Inspects proof sheets to evaluate the quality of printing.
Adjusts press machinery to meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate printing presses.
Troubleshoots issues with printing press and makes basic repairs.
Performs routine maintenance on presses.
Informs supervisor of problems with equipment or materials.
Drafts and submits reports for daily production totals.
Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing presses and related software.
Ability to follow instructions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational / technical school training preferred; on-the-job training provided.
Previous related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Physically able to operate printing presses.
Able to bend or kneel frequently.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
