Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We’re seeking candidates for General Laborer positions on a variety of shifts in the Heat Press department. Compensation for these temp-to-hire opportunities is $18.00-$21.00 per hour, depending on skills & experience.
What a Heat Press General Laborer will do:
- Sets automatic controls, observes gauges, and operates gas or electric furnace used to harden temper, anneal heat treat metal parts.
- Loads parts into containers in accordance with load diagrams, closes furnace door, and inserts parts into furnace when specified temperature is reached.
- Adjusts machine settings with assistance when necessary.
- Removes parts from furnace after specified time and air dries or cools parts in water or oil brine or other baths.
- Disassembles loads as needed.
- Reads production schedule to determine processing sequence and furnace temperature requirements for objects to be heat treated.
- Reads work order to determine processing specifications.
- Lights gas burners and adjusts flow of gas and coolant water.
- Moves material and supplies with a forklift as needed.
What it takes to become a Heat Press General Laborer:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to follow work instructions
- Regular attendance
- Ability to acquire forklift license and safely operator a forklift as needed
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 32 pounds., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 72 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to perform repetitive movements (i.e. bend, twist, etc.) and stand and/or walk up to 100% of shift, with or without reasonable #AudubonJobs #WorkNow
