Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Role and Responsibilities
A Press Brake Operator will be responsible for but not limited to the below:
· Ensures the safety and functionality of machines by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
· Follows diagrams and drawings provided to ensure accuracy of new builds.
· Understands how to use tools applicable for the job duties to ensure safe and proper use.
· Uses gauges, calipers, squares or rulers for measurement.
· Work with tight tolerances
· Produce parts for assemblies
· Ensures all documentation is completed and turned into the Manufacturing Supervisor at the end of the job.
Communication:
Ensure professional, adequate and effective communication with all members of staff to ensure that instructions, ideas and expectations are clear and concise
Qualifications
· 1-3 years experience in press brake operations preferred.
· Able to read fabrication drawings and build according to specifications.
· Excellent communication and thinking skills.
· Experience working with industrial machines.
