Precision Metal Stamping Company in Whittier looking for an experienced Punch Press Operator for aerospace manufacturing work.

Starting pay commensurate with direct experience.

Required Skills:

1) Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.

2) Precision machinist, either beginner or experienced.

3) Stamping press experience preferred but not required; will consider CNC experience, manual machining experience, tool & die making experience, or other relevant machining experience.

4) Must be able to read blue prints.

5) Must be able to work to tolerances of /- .001 inches.

6) Must be able to use micrometer and caliper to measure accurately to /- .0005 inches.

7) Must be responsible and capable of meeting attendance requirements (minimal tardiness, minimal unplanned and unexcused absences).

8) Must be able to work well with others in fast-paced environment with daily production targets.

9) Must be fluent in English, and have reliable transportation.

10) Must be able to perform basic computer keyboard data entry.

Job Duties:

1) Perform preventative maintenance as required.

2) Read part design drawings, review work order instructions and perform manufacturing operations accordingly.

3) Set-Up and assemble, install, and align dies in press according to specifications.

4) Start press and observe operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.

5) Inspect work pieces for conformance to specifications; make adjustments to set-up as necessary to pass first-piece inspection.

6) Perform in-process inspection to the AQL required.

7) Enter job information into computer system, including time entries, part counts, scrap counts, and comments as necessary.

8) Comply with all Rippy and regulatory Safety requirements.

9) Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Other Requirements:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Able to read blue prints and understand geometric tolerances.

· Proficient in the use of standard measurement tools, such as micrometer, caliper, dial indicator and optical comparator, and are capable of obtaining accurate results using these tools.

· Must be able to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

· Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

· Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Must have reliable transportation and consistent on-time attendance
