Description:

Purpose: This important part of our production team plays a crucial role in executing design onto recycled sail cloth.

Scope: Work with Production Manager to schedule, manage and direct all phases of print production; from receiving the print files, to executing the print and heat pressing onto sails to preparing the product for sewing.

Responsibilities:

Heat Press:

• Receive printed paper from the digital printer and load on the press.
• Select proper sail fabric for specific order(s) and load on the press.
• Operate the press to transfer the printed design onto the fabric.
• Monitor press operation and materials.
• Determine quality of press and work with production manager to clear any quality issues.

Job Qualifications

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):

• Production experience and experience as machine operator.
• Ability to focus and have an attention to safety.
• Be a team player and jump in and support any needs in the company when called upon.
• Solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Good scheduling and time management skills.
• Strong ability to communicate and articulate processes and instructions both orally and in writing.
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong work ethic with customer and team focus.
• Capacity to learn and retain information.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand 7 plus hours per shift.
• Visual acuity to match colors.
• Capability to work overtime when needed - possible work on Saturdays.
• Take accountability for your projects and tasks.
• Basic English skills with a capacity to follow both written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Requirements:

• Color management skills
• Experience with wide format digital printers, Rip software and color management, and Adobe Illustrator.
