Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Position: Sheet Metal Machine Operator
Location: Apple Valley, CA
California Pulse, Inc is manufacturing business in the finishing equipment industry. Our products include spray booths, heaters, powder coating ovens, and a variety of other items for the finishing industry. We work primarily with 18ga galvanized steel.
We are looking for a full-time machine operator who is respectful, honest, and reliable. The bulk of our work force has been with us for many years because the environment here is team-oriented, positive, and drama-free. Employees are expected to maintain this environment. No harassment of any kind is tolerated.
You will be working with galvanized steel sheets that are approximately 48"W x 120"L (approx. 86lbs). You must be able to do heavy lifting/sliding. It is labor-intensive work. The following are required:
· Must be able to operate 10' shear and punch machines*
· Must be able to read and follow blue prints
· Must be able to check quality of part by comparing to blue prints
· Must be able to use tape measure and calipers
*We do provide training if necessary so prior experience operating a shear and punch is not required.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Please note that we do have two shifts available:
- Shift 1 is from 5:00am – 01:30pm
- Shift 2 is from 1:30pm - 10:00pm
