Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The education editor is a player-coach position that is expected to edit and produce stories about the impact of education policies on K-12 students and educators; student performance, including achievement among different student populations and services provided to those populations; school board politics, the Louisiana Department of Education, the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education; and local public schools, among other topics.
You should be dedicated to helping reporters grow in their craft, have strong communication skills and a good bedside manner, and have strong news judgment. You will also be expected to collaborate across teams. It's a bonus if you have education reporting/editing experience.
