Punch Press Operator configures and operates electrically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations. Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions. Being a Punch Press Operator responsibilities include configuring equipment and calibrating gauge settings, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials onto the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die. Keeps a record of operational data and performs routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, Punch Press Operator monitors work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Punch Press Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We are seeking a press brake operator with a desire to work with your hands in a busy manufacturing environment. Training will be provided, but you must be dependable and have a desire to learn and grow while working in a team environment.
Role and Responsibilities
· Performs daily preventative maintenance on machine according to schedule provided by the production manager.
· Selects and mounts bending tools including upper and lower punches and dies to machine.
· Downloads CNC Program to machine control and sets back stops.
· Loads material into machine and actuates stroke to make bend(s).
· Runs first piece sample and inspects using template or calipers.
· Monitors production operation of machine and checks parts for conformance to drawing according to schedule provided by Quality Manager.
· Unloads bent parts from machine, identify and move to designated area.
· Completes documentation required on Work Order.
