Position Overview:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a vital role in the procurement and acquisition of goods and services essential for the smooth functioning of Philadelphia Job Corps Center. Your expertise in strategic purchasing will contribute to the overall success of our programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential vendors, assess product quality, negotiate terms, and secure favorable agreements. Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs.
• Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for improvements or changes when necessary.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all contracts and agreements.
• Budget Management: Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to manage procurement budgets effectively. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
• Procurement Processes: Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Implement best practices for efficient and streamlined procurement operations.

Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited school required. Three to five years of experience including oversight of contracts, sub contracts and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications is required. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
