The Purchasing Agent/Assistant Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of a landscape construction company. This multifaceted position involves both procurement responsibilities and project management support. The successful candidate will be adept at coordinating purchases, managing inventory, and assisting with project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Vendor Management and Procurement:

• o Source materials, equipment, and supplies from reliable vendors.
• o Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
• o Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• o Place purchase orders for timely delivery of goods.

2. **Inventory Control:

• o Monitor stock levels and anticipate purchasing needs.
• o Ensure adequate inventory for ongoing projects.
• o Track and manage stock replenishment.

3. **Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

• o Analyze pricing trends and seek cost-effective solutions.
• o Collaborate with project managers to align purchasing with project budgets.
• o Assist in estimating project costs.

4. **Quality Assurance:

• o Inspect received goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
• o Address any discrepancies promptly.
• o Ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.

5. **Project Coordination:

• o Collaborate closely with the Project Manager.
• o Assist in planning and implementing construction projects.
• o Coordinate tasks, schedules, and resources.

6. **Administrative Support:

• o Set up meetings, draft invoices, and maintain project-related documents.
• o Track project progress and report updates.
• o Organize and store project documentation.

7. **Data Analysis and Reporting:

• o Analyze project data (budgets, timelines, resource allocation).
• o Provide insights to support decision-making.
• o Prepare reports for management.

8. **Safety and Compliance:

• o Adhere to safety protocols.
• o Monitor compliance with regulations and company policies.
• o Promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in supply chain management, construction management, or related fields is advantageous).
• • Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• • Familiarity with construction processes and terminology.
• • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements:

• • Comfortable working outdoors and on construction sites.
• • Stamina for extended periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.
