Additionally, Purchasing Agent coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Agent independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent at our corporate office in Compton, CA. This position will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with suppliers and vendors to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules. They will also ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures. Compensation range negotiable commensurate with experience level.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:- Identify and source potential suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate prices, contract terms & conditions, and delivery schedules
- Ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Responsible for creating, approving vendor PO’s, monitoring progress through completion
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to determine purchasing needs
- Track and report on purchasing activities
- Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers or vendors
Job Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus but not required
- 2 years of experience in industrial packaging procurement
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
- Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite System a plus but not required
