The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a public Career and Technical Education District (CTED) providing tuition-free career and technical education (CTE) programs to high school students – public, charter, and home-schooled – and tuition-based programs to adults who reside in 11 school districts in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area.

EVIT offers over 40 CTE programs at four centralized campuses. Centralized campus programs provide two to four hours of hands-on training every day and prepare students for professional certification and licensing exams. EVIT students who complete their training have a 98 percent high school graduation rate and 90 percent on average are in jobs related to their training, college or the military within a year. Two out of three EVIT students go on to college.

Applications are being accepted for the position of Purchasing Specialist with the East Valley Institute of Technology. The starting date is approximately November 20, 2023. The beginning hourly salary range for this position is approximately $25.54 - $32.65 dependent upon education and like experience. This is a full-time 12 month position.


Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs the proper purchasing of goods and materials required by the District and maintains accuracy and integrity of purchase orders, invoices, and the competitive bidding process.



Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, public or business administration, or other closely related field AND
• Three years of experience within an Arizona school district in an accounting role, purchasing role, state reporting OR
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience within an Arizona school district performing school finance, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, state reporting, or related function.

Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements:

• Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.

ADA and Other Requirements: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
