Being a Purchasing Clerk interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.   • JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for planning, purchasing and coordinating delivery of materials, supplies, resources for supply store and/or field service operations. Monitors consumption rates and existing inventory levels, performs replenishment planning and creates purchase orders to deliver materials. Collects internal requirements on an as needed or just in time basis. Uses established vendors and identifies additional sources to improve schedule or cost. Creates and maintains purchase orders and follows up with vendors to ensure delivery schedules are met. Coordinates delivery of goods to original requestors. Performs needed transactions and completes documentation in accordance with established processes and policies.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Collects requests from various internal departments and consolidates demand information
    • Analyzes local inventory levels and determines best method to source additional material either from other company locations or vendors
    • Identifies new sources of supply to improve cost and/or schedule; requests new vendors as appropriate
    • Uses correct item numbers and requests new items as appropriate
    • Works with branch personnel to ensure correct quantities are received according to purchase orders and physical shipments; may directly receive material as required
    • Promotes utilization of excess/obsolete/dead-end inventory
    • Ensures receiving, staging and laydown areas are kept organized
    • Performs or arranges for equipment repair and calibration as required
    • Coordinates delivery of goods to original requests using internal parts runners or third party shipping
    • Completes necessary documentation, records transactions and communicates status as needed to other team members and departments
    • Reports purchasing related KPIs
      • Inventory levels and valuation
      • Inventory usage/consumption
    • Provides information for company controls and invoice processing
      • 3 way match – Purchase Order, Proof of Delivery/physical receipt of goods, invoice
    • Monitors vendor performance data related to delivery and invoice processing

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1-3 years in an inventory management or purchasing role
    • Working knowledge of oilfield equipment/goods
    • Ability to multitask, operate in a fast paced environment and balance competing demands
    • Prioritizes work and follows through tasks to completion
    • Knowledge of supply chain processes: procurement/purchasing, inventory management
    • Knowledge of ERP (Business Central, Oracle, SAP etc) and Microsoft Office applications
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Must pass background, motor vehicle history and drug screening

    WORK ENVIROMENT:

    • Office environment, enclosed warehouse and outdoor storage yard
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
