Purchasing Clerk jobs in San Francisco, CA

We are currently searching for a Purchasing Agent.

The Purchasing Agent requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The position requires knowledge of receiving, classifying, storing, distributing, and taking inventory of food & beverage, materials, supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Organizes storage room areas, and places labels on items.
• Assist departments in purchasing items as needed.
• Receives and inspects all incoming food and beverage items as well as all incoming mail, packages, and other items.
• Expedites the transfer and storage of all incoming items to appropriate storeroom, refrigerator/freezer, or department.
• Conducts regular inventory of food and beverage items to accurately count all items in stock.
• Labels, dates, and performs storage rotation of food items to avoid spoilage and control waste.
• Keeps storeroom and loading dock neat and clean.
• Assists in the maintenance of perpetual inventories.
• May prepare requisitions for stock replacement.
• Load and unload at the point of pick-up, delivery, or distribution when necessary.
• Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials, supplies and equipment upon receipt.
• Check materials received against invoices and notes breakage and discrepancies in quantity or quality.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous purchasing/receiving experience required.
• Lifestyle / luxury hotel experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crawl, push, pull, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone
• Long hours sometimes required to include night, weekends, and holidays.
• Medium work – exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
