Purchasing Clerk jobs in Sioux Falls, SD

The Purchasing Clerk communicates with vendors and suppliers to assure the delivery of purchased materials.

Essential Functions

1. Follows Jonti-Craft policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services and those established by the Director of Operations.
2. Monitors specific vendors for performance and service.
3. Establishes volume purchasing programs.
4. Ensures that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchases are correct and appropriate.
5. Keeps accurate records, price histories, and records any problems in doing business with particular vendors.
6. Works closely with the Director of Operations regarding scheduling to maintain "just in time" levels of inventory.

Additional Functions

1. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent process and product knowledge and leadership ability.

Working conditions

Our office environment is a typical office environment does not substantially expose workers to adverse environmental conditions. The position may require occasional visits to the shop floor. Our production environment includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold.

Physical requirements

Office positions are usually sedentary. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Ability to sit for long periods of time is required. The noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate. Occasional brief trips to the production floor may be required.
