Additionally, Purchasing Clerk, Sr coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk, Sr works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-2:30pm
    Responsibilities Include:
    • Responsible for evaluating, assessing and selecting vendors based on needs, pricing, vendor capabilities, performance, and consistent quality service.
    • Prepares bids, for selection of vendors, in accordance with State of Alabama bid laws and in accordance with requirements and needs of company.
    • Evaluates inventory levels and quantity price breaks to determine the most economical purchasing of supplies. Responsible for efficient purchasing of supplies.
    • Reviews completed electronic supply requisitions for correct pricing, department allocation, and other data and generates purchase orders to fill and distribute to A/P staff.
    • Assist Accounting Manager as needed on special projects.
    Requirements:
    Any combination of training and experience equivalent to:
    • Graduation from high school and/or GED, including or supplemented by courses in business practice and typing.
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience in purchasing duties.
    • Possession of a valid Alabama driver license.
    • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check
