Inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Being a Purchasing Clerk, Sr interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. Expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Additionally, Purchasing Clerk, Sr coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Purchasing Clerk, Sr works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Summary:The Purchasing Clerk will perform administrative duties for the purchasing department to support the company's operation.Duties/Responsibilities:- Daily supply orders - office supplies and miscellaneous items as requested.
- Material & Hardware orders - deciphering data and quantities listed on bill of material from engineering and compile into monthly material orders.
- Sourcing of new vendors and alternate materials that are competitive with current market rates.
- Inventory control – remain aware of inventory and stock and have the ability to forecast material needs.
- Supplier communication - pricing and quotes, material and hardware lead times, issues and quality complaints, returns/damages.
- Order Tracking - must be able to locate and identify all placed orders. Continuous follow-up with suppliers is a must.
- In-house computer information system - will be responsible for regularly updating and maintaining all purchasing information and orders.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, especially Excel.
Education and Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous purchasing and shipping experience preferred.
- At least one year of administrative experience required.
- At least one year of experience working with various computer systems strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
