Purchasing Clerk, Sr jobs in Stamford, CT

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services to meet the company's operational needs efficiently.

Duties:
- Research new products to bring into stock
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
- Run a backorder report twice a day, in addition to purchasing for lines daily to make sure at least 3 months worth of inventory are in stock.
- Collaborate with sales to make sure we are stocking what their customers will be needing
- work with receiving to make sure they know when orders are coming in
- meet with vendors and discuss new and/or existing products we might not be selling

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role is helpful
- ability to pick up software programs quickly, our company has its own program
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
- Knowledge of E-commerce platforms for purchasing goods online.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures and logistics.
- Ability to work in a team environment

- A positive attitude is necessary and the ability to work under pressure is needed
