Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     PURCHASING ASSISTANT

    Shift: Day shift

    Pay rate: $20 - $30 per hour


    Job Summary:

    The Purchase Assistant will be responsible for customer communication upon receiving their quote for their purchase. The Purchase Assistant will communicate with the customers regarding down payments, deadlines, final payment and delivery of purchase. The Purchase Assistant will also place orders with vendors and suppliers for materials and parts to meet the company’s operational needs.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None


    Duties/Responsibilities:

      *Collaborates with Sales Team on quotes for customer orders. *Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables. *Maintains communication with customers on down payment for orders, completion purchase, final payment and delivery of equipment. *Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment. *Resolves grievances with vendors, customers, and suppliers *Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems *Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers *Coordinates with Shipping & Receiving for deliveries to the customers *Performs other duties as assigned


    Required Skills/Abilities:

      *Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills *Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills *Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail *Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines *Strong analytical and problem-solving skills *Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate *Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company *Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software


    Education and Experience:

      *At least three-five years of experience in related field required *ERP systems experience preferred


    Physical Requirements:

      *Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer *Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times *Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
