Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsibilities

    • Processes purchase orders for the casino.
    • Maintains accurate and organized purchase order data, files and records.
    • Follows-up on purchase order status to ensure timely delivery of goods.
    • Prepares purchase orders for Accounts Payable by matching receivers with purchase orders, verifying quantities and entering receipt data.
    • Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor for receiving, storage, delivery and filling of purchase requisitions.
    • Assists with inventory of products, as needed.
    • Interacts with internal and external customers in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner.
    • Responds to requests in a timely and professional manner.
    • Performs controls to ensure accuracy.
    • Ensures security and confidentiality of all records.
    • Performs special analyses, reports or projects as requested.
    • Maintains knowledge of current and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Use Windows XP, Excel, Word and other computer software.
    • Completes all work in a timely and satisfactory manner.
    • Obtains and restocks supplies as needed.
    •  Correctly completes all required paperwork per company procedure.
    • Attends all mandatory department, casino and/or training meetings.
    • Follows all department and casino policies, procedures, and regulations as required.
    • Ensures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
    • Ensures control/protection of company assets as applicable.
    • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
    • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Exceptional guest service skills required.
    • One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Purchasing experience preferred.
    • Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
    • Excellent follow up skills required.
    •  Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and experience with database systems. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms and other information and instructions.
    • Positive, friendly and outgoing attitude required.
    • Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
    • Professional and neat appearance required.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment desired.
    • Skills in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Knowledge of principles and practices of general business administration including personnel practices, employment laws, and general accounting practices.
    • Skills in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
    • Ability to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one situation and small group situations.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, commissions, interest to practical solutions.
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

    Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
