Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree.     POSITION: Director of Purchasing
    Salary: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt

    Description
    The Director of Purchasing is responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services forconstruction projects, the procuring and expediting of all materials, supplies, equipment, services, and otherpurchasing functions for The Catawba Two Kings Casino.

    Responsibilities:
    Developing and implementing construction purchasing strategies and policies.
    Managing the Purchasing Agent.
    Negotiating construction contracts and agreements with suppliers.
    Ensuring that all construction purchases comply with company policies, procedures, legal requirements, andindustry standards.
    Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for construction cost savings.
    Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architect, and other team members to ensure that the rightconstruction materials and equipment are delivered to the job site on time.
    Conducts routine construction vendor conference calls to ensure timeline is being met.
    Responsible for the smooth operation of procurement and expediting of all materials, supplies, equipment,and services.
    Build a network with property end-users and key stakeholders to maximize the benefits of agreements.
    Creates and manages short, mid, and long-term goals and objectives for creating procurement department.
    Creates improvement of best-practice based processes (e.g., leadership of high-value/strategic sourcingefforts).
    Manages business process outsourcing activities.
    Identifies construction cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.
    Manages purchasing staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, suppliermanagement, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities.
    Manages the skills and competency development of purchasing staff, including training development andknowledge management capabilities.
    Leadership of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiatives.
    Ensures Internal Controls (IC’s) are updated per as needed.
    Develops benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous process improvement.
    Builds a Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) to help transform Procurement and support broadertransformation of the value chain and the enterprise.
    Develops and executes new and improved procurement strategies across all lines of our business.
    Ensures Procurement policies are adhered to and executed effectively.
    Evaluates and enhances local spend, while researching and prospecting new suppliers
    Maintains contracts with our terms and conditions, improving cash flow with improved terms.
    Develops economic order quantities, forecasting, and replenishment strategies across allproperty/departments.
    Leads the RFP/RFQ processes and performs analysis on RFP/RFQ responses.
    Negotiates all purchases in the best interest of Catawba Two Kings Casino.
    Develops supplier partner relationships that align with the overall Strategic Plan. Understands therelationships may go beyond lowest cost.
    Manages all aspects of the supply chain (SCM), notifying senior management of possible obstacles to idealefficiency.
    Has a good understanding of Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR).

    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in business, or related field required.
    Minimum 5 years' experience in the purchasing field, with hotel/casino experience required.
    Must have good supervisory and motivational skills.
    Solid working knowledge of complete procurement cycle with a hands-on work style.
    High degree of experience
    working in and overseeing the procurement to payment process
    Familiar with a variety of financial management concepts, business practices and procedures as it relatesto procurement and corporate administration.
    Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
    Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel in the corporation.
    Must be detail oriented, ability to manage time, as well as ability to multi-task.
    Must be a team player and ability to collaborate with others.
    Must adhere to all Catawba Gaming Commission regulations and guidelines.
    Must adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.
    Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    Must be able to obtain a Gaming License.
