Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The Purchasing Agent will process vendor invoices for accounts payable and purchase orders. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Reviews all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
    • Acts as liaison between corporate, branch and vendor accounts payable departments.
    • Confirm and process purchase orders in system for payment.
    • Responsible for producing service tickets for the month.
    • Order and maintain inventory for uniforms.
    • Oversee vendor returns.
    • Reconcile employee credit card statements.
    • Reconcile vendor statements.
    • Handle incoming phone calls from customers inquiring about their invoices.
    • Create purchase orders for field technicians.
    • Invoice/order follow-up (telephone/email confirmation).
    • Ensures accuracy of all orders.
    • Confirmation of order quantity, pricing, and availability.
    • Assist with invoice problem resolution.
    • Follow up concerning PO/ordering issues.
    • Track the status of any orders.
    • Research open purchase orders for cleanup.
    • Liaison with other departments, particularly the Accounting, Sales, Service and Warehouse departments.
    • Perform miscellaneous filling.
    • Keeps Supervisor informed of the status of accounts.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Education/Experience:
    • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) and work experience of 3 years in an office setting.

    Competencies:
    • Administrative skills and experience.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    This position is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.

    Work Environment
    This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
