Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     POSITION(S) THAT REPORT TO YOU: Administrative/Meeting Manager, Communications/Membership Manager
    EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours per week)

    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    Closely monitors association activities and provides important decision-making information to association leadership. Provides professional direction and support for all client activities, projects, meetings and campaigns.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours per week):
    • Manage the grant/fundraising development for CSRO.
    • Oversee implementation of strategic goals as directed by Board president.
    • Oversee legal responsibilities of the organization (taxes, bylaws, contracts, etc.).
    • Oversee financial activities, including payment of invoices, budget preparation, monthly financial records, annual audit, etc.
    • Supervise day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the association.
    • Oversee development and publication printed materials and other communications (broadcast emails, faxes, mail, etc.) to members.
    • Oversee committee infrastructure and activities.
    • Oversee maintenance and updates of the client website.
    • Coordinate agendas and other materials for Board meetings and conference calls.
    • Attend and facilitate in-person Board meetings.
    • Attend and facilitate committee conference calls.
    • Take and distribute minutes of Board and committee meetings and conference calls.
    • Attend the Rheumatology Fellows education meeting and provide support and staff oversight for all related functions.
    • Represent CSRO at related meetings when appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED:
    Approximately 15 days per year.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    Bachelor’s degree or professional experience in a related field and excellent written and verbal skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    (lifting, packaging, etc.) Minimal lifting required. Ability to move quickly within meeting facilities.
     
     
    *This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
