Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Responsible for one or several purchasing categories and expert for the market for the purchasing community, the internal stakeholders and suppliers.
    Contributor of the MH Purchasing Community activity.

    • Define and apply the purchasing strategy for the category
    • Guarantee that suppliers meet the financial, quality and timing objectives set for the products / services within their portfolio
    • Manage optimal supplier relationship, considering internal and external requirements
    • Prepare budgets for his/her portfolios and manage supplier activity
    • Participate in transversal initiatives of the MH Purchasing Community

    Under the responsabilty of the Senior Purchasing Manager, your missions as VIE - Purchasing Assistant will be:


    • Support the Senior Purchasing Manager with Purchasing activities for the company
    • Support administrative efforts in the Purchasing Dept
    • Promote and train other depts in Purchasing practices and procedures to ensure consistency across the company
    • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the categories of spend managed
    • Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems, processes and procedures
    • Develops and implements Chandon’s Purchasing Strategy thru market analysis and delivery conditions, including threats and opportunities, and identifies and sources new local or international suppliers
    • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
    • Proposes a relevant contractual framework with his/her key suppliers and adopts a TCO approach with them
    • Acquires an economic and technological knowledge for his/her categories, including innovation, and reports any significant change
    • Conducts negotiations for contracts and recurring products/services, continuously identifies and oversees cost reduction plan
    • Prepares the budget for the portfolio
    • Prepares the dashboard of their activity on a monthly basis and takes the necessary actions to achieve the expected results
    • Prepares and coordinates key suppliers performance evaluation on an annual basis and reports the findings to the suppliers and internal stakeholders
    • Where necessary, participates in quality audits, and supports Quality in the post-audit action plan
    • Supports dispute handling with suppliers and its resolution
    • Manages suppliers relationship, ensuring that the requirements of departments within the concerned Entities are met
    • Propose and support key transversal projects for the purchasing organization


    Profile

    Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Packaging or Engineering

    Languages : English

    Professional experience & know how: purchasing or related experience, knowledge of the Wine and Spirits sector

    Technical & management skills:
    Ability to negotiate performance contracts with goods or service suppliers.
    Knowledge of MRP system and Planning/Supply Chain process.
    MS Office skills.
    Knowledge of Purchasing best practices.

    Personal & interpersonal skills: Team building skills in which high quality standards are maintained through working with outside resources and inter/intra departments. Ability to maintain high standards with suppliers with emphasis on negotiating opportunities that are good for both parties. Respect for accountability and responsibility. Strong skills when it comes to priority setting, dealing with ambiguity, and managing vision and purpose.
