Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Salary Based on Experience $80K-$105K range

    Required Skills / Abilities:

    • Must have experience as a Director of Purchasing for a group of skilled nursing facilities
    • Must have strong nursing home knowledge
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel) or related software
    • Strategic and critical planning and execution, with exemplary follow through

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    • Source and validate new and potential vendors
    • Contract negotiation and execution
    • Validate and negotiate pricing and markup
    • Negotiate Administrative Fee (share backs), rebate programs, and bonus (growth) incentives with vendor
    • Contract renewals
    • Facilitate, maintain, and resolve vendor issues and occasionally negotiate on behalf of individual member
    • Run competitive market analysis on a regular basis to determine best practices and pricing
    • Demonstrate and convey general product/services knowledge to field quick inquiries from Sales team and member
    • Gather, and distribute purchasing information to involved parties including vendors, sales representative, and employees
    • Strategize capitalizing on company growth and expansion to neighboring markets
    • Complete other related projects as assigned
