Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary of the Quality Director:  The Quality Director position is responsible for Quality Assurance activities and processes to ensure customers’ expectations are met or exceeded.  This includes oversight of the Quality department and associated processes, quality data analysis (COPQ), and reporting. This position is responsible for integration of Quality Management Systems, ISO9001/IATF16949 current Standards, Audits, Certification, Internal Audits, Customer Audits, Document Control and Intellect software platform. 

    Job Responsibilities of the Quality Director: 

    1.    Lead COPQ reduction efforts to ensure Quality Objectives are met. 

    2.    Lead the Audit Management process for all quality audits (internal, customer, supplier, and 3rd party) ensuring conformance to all requirements, thus maintaining certificates. 

    3.    Maintain Lead Auditor certification, write and revise procedures and work instructions, perform and facilitate Internal Audits to ensure ISO9001/IATF16949 certification. 

    4.    Supports the Quality Manager in leading Quality processes including Receiving Inspection, ISIRs, Sort/Rework, MSAs, MRBs, and CAR process to ensure customer satisfaction

    5.    Maintain a thorough understanding of products and processes to correctly analyze and interpret customer problems and support effective solutions. 

    6.    Support the Quality Engineer as the quality representative on design and development teams to research and communicate quality history, conduct MSAs, and contribute to the development of control plans to ensure quiet product launches.

    7.    Support material review and disposition of nonconforming or suspect products (MRB’s), to ensure proper containment to prevent defective products from getting shipped to the customer.

    8.    Accurately prepare quality reports as requested by Management for their analysis and review.

    9.    Provide leadership, vision, and direction for all quality activities to achieve efficient, economical, and timely production of a quality product. 

    Education & Experience of the Quality Director:

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering related field

    ·          10 years of applied experience as a Quality Manager or equivalent “decision making” position

    ·         Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification and at least 2 years’ experience as full-time, active Belt

    ·         5 years’ experience as Lead Auditor for ISO9001 and IATF16949 current standards

    ·         Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, or equivalent, certification preferred
