Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Opportunity:  The Director of Site Merchandising will lead eCommerce Merchandising strategies and solutions to enhance the online customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in e-commerce merchandising, a keen eye for product assortment, and a strategic mindset to optimize site performance.

    What You Will Do:

    • Provide leadership to site merchandising, by effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to generate innovative solutions for the online experience
    • Strategize to oversee and enhance partnerships with vendors specializing in Site Search and Site Personalization
    • Drive the strategic prioritization of on-site projects with a laser focus on maximizing Demand dollars and significantly contributing to the overall growth strategy
    • Oversee the end-to-end site and app experience from the customer's perspective
    • Identify opportunities to enhance the digital experience, minimizing friction for customers, and strategically aligning with evolving business goals
    • Monitor site health and performance through analytics and key metrics, lead comprehensive internal business reviews, and evolve key site metrics and dashboards to track overall business trends
    • Recognize, escalate, and resolve critical site issues, communicating root causes and driving the implementation of fixes
    • Advise and collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, identify growth opportunities, and scale best practices and governance; drive continuous assessment and improvement of the site's strategic direction and execution
    • Manage the creation of innovative merchandising features, such as buying guides, look books, and merchandising-specific landing pages, elevating customer understanding of products and strategically driving conversion and average order values
    • Analyze and develop decisive strategies based on site usage and analytics data, encompassing category performance, search quality, and personalization features

    The Experience You Will Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field
    • 7 years of experience in Merchandising and eCommerce with a focus on vendor management and optimization
    • Demonstrates ability to drive impactful results cross-functionally without direct management of all team members
    • 5 years of experience with exceptional ability to select and develop a high-performing team of future leaders
    • Hands-on experience using fundamental web merchandising functions, including site merchandising, product information, site search, navigation optimization, and landing pages
    • Strong customer focus with a commitment to building the optimal site experience for our customers
    • Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable making data-driven decisions, and a strong desire for continuous improvement
    • Marketplace experience a plus
