Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Impact XM develops solutions for virtual and live events. We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing and purchasing essential materials and supplier services for Impact XM operations, ensuring that all purchases adhere to established policies and procedures.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research and evaluate suppliers based on company standards.
    • Research, evaluate, and buy products and services for facility inventory and customer projects.
    • Evaluate and analyze purchasing and pricing trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize costs.
    • Negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing and delivery terms.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
    • Regularly evaluate supplier performance, their alignment to contract terms, and focus on continuous improvement.
    • Track and record purchases by category to align with the company sustainability initiatives.
    • Review purchase order requests from internal Impact XM teams.
    • Confirm pricing and lead times and assign purchase orders to vendors and suppliers.
    • Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
    • Complete purchase data and record in the project and accounting systems.
    • Ensure quality of goods and services purchased.
    • Maintain communication with the Directors of Ops, Production Managers and Warehouse Managers at each facility to manage stock inventory materials and control re-ordering.
    • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures related to purchasing.
    • Complete other related projects as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and 5 years’ proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent or Officer; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with Trade Shows and Events is highly desirable.
    • Experience with Procurement or risk assessment tools (eg. Ecovadis)
    • Strategic mindset focused on achieving sustainable purchasing objectives
    • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
    • Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends
    • Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport
    • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
    • Strong contract and negotiation skills
    • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good organization detail, and follow-up skills
    • Ability to operate under severe time constraints and immovable deadlines.
    • Embodies flexibility, open-mindedness and receptivity.
    • Ability to actively work out solutions.
    • Strong business sense
    • Works well as part of a team and able to effectively collaborate.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
