General Description: Responsible for management of the procurement of materials from vendors. Manages the order process and procedures for the company. Accountable for negotiating pricing, delivery and freight terms that keep the company competitive and profitable.

• Develop and maintain strong relationship with vendors.
• Provide consistent customer service within the company through proper purchasing procedures.
• Direct and take an active part in solving problems with vendors.
• Manage product purchasing and item transfers for all locations.
• Evaluate vendor performance and take action to correct or replace vendors not meeting corporate standards.
• Assist in the monitoring of commodity purchasing to assure proper purchasing and pricing practices are being followed.
• Work with Location Managers to evaluate new items to stock and items to discontinue
• Responsible for buying group relationships.
• Attend appropriate meetings that benefit purchasing.
• Manage consolidation of vendors without harming customer service.
• Work with IT to assure proper reporting for purchasing and purchasing evaluation.
• Assure vendor warranties are being properly returned and credited.
• Maintain contractual rebates and pricing with suppliers.
• Seek out opportunities to improve overall profit realization
• Handling returns due to damage or shipping errors, ensure the company receives credit from supplier.
• Identify dead stock and negotiate the return/disposal of said material
• Yearly vendor reviews
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Skills Requirements:

• High School degree required
• College degree preferred, but not required.
• Computer literacy
• Working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel
• Experience in purchasing commodities preferred.

Physical Requirements & Job Conditions:

• Required to lift no more that 75 lbs.
• Climate controlled environment
• Minimum of travel.
• Mainly as desk position.
