We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a Purchasing Manager for a switchgear manufacturing company, you will be responsible for developing & overseeing the procurement process. You may lead or delegate the negotiating of contracts, and managing portions of supplier relationships. Your expertise in procurement management and sourcing will be crucial in ground up development of a professional procurement system now necessary for our recent and ongoing growth. Your experience and talents will establish & ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. This position can be part or full time with agreeably flexible scheduling.
Duties:
- Develop and implement a procurement system with strategies to meet the organization's needs.
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services from varied suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers to ensure excellent costing, service and delivery terms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing requirements
- Partner in the development of systems to monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Develop and Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to manage inventory levels effectively
- Partner in overseeing logistics and transportation of goods to ensure on-time delivery
- Research new potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends
A Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement activities is a must.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of manufacturing & fabricating processes. Switchgear knowledge is a plus.
