Purchasing Supervisor jobs in Burlington, VT
Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Purchasing Assistant
Our Rutland, VT client is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant for their team! You’ll play a key role in procuring materials so the company can produce its high-quality metal and stone home décor products.
Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant- Ensure quantity and delivery date of purchased materials meet production scheduling needs
- Establish schedules in accordance with master schedule
- Monitor inventory levels and issue requisitions for materials
- Select new vendors, negotiate material prices, assess market conditions, and resolve delivery problems
- Research the marketplace to obtain the highest quality product at the lowest cost
- Exercise judgment on quantities, material substitutions, and delivery issues
- Perform other related tasks as assigned or required
Qualifications of the Purchasing Assistant
- Previous purchasing experience
- Computer proficiency
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and decision-making skills
