The position collaborates with the health plan’s leadership to develop and maintain processes and tools for measuring performance; performs basic and complex analyses to monitor health care quality, fiscal soundness, and return on investment; supports compliance with regulatory reporting standards and continually stimulates organizational improvement in medical and network management. The position also promotes data integrity through development and improvement of methods to collect data, and may identify and/or develop intuitive easy-to-use self-service point and click applications to increase the effectiveness of clinical quality oversight systems. QualificationsRequired• Understanding of medical management strategies and analytical approaches to support such strategies; • Understanding of how to measure and monitor medical utilization associated with managed care operations;• Experience using SQL and/or Cognos to extract data from data warehouse; • Significant experience analyzing large volumes of data using PC-based software applications, including Microsoft Excel.Desired• Knowledge of Medi-Cal or Medicaid, and clinical quality measurement;• Experience with quality management and information technology systems;• Professional certification in technical discipline (SQL, Cognos, etc.).• This position requires: a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 3 years of experience in medical management and/or quality assessment of managed care programs, or a combination of academic, professional or work experience that demonstrates ability to perform duties of the position;• Significant depth of understanding of medical management strategies and analytical approaches to support such strategies;• Significant analytical skills and experience analyzing utilization data using PC-based software applications including Excel.Additional InformationIf you feel that you have the skills we require, please respond to this posting with your contact information and your resume in a Word document.
