The CSPD Quality Technician will conduct day to day operations needed for successful capture of field issues and reliability testing.
This position reports to the Project manager or a designated Client representative.
The QA Technician is able to multitask, and has the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the company.
This role includes but is not limited to receipt, test, analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities
▪ Assists in the development of statistical analysis and trend data in order to maintain the Quality Information System
▪ Conducts competency evaluations through skill demonstration and written assessments to determine areas for performance improvement and implements recommendations to improve operational quality
▪ Conducts and records safety orientation for: new hires, annual compliance, safety violations, and as needed.
▪ Develops and uses evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training
▪ Documents improvement findings and updates; submits reports to the SIPS Manager.
▪ Engages in process and quality improvement activities under the direction of the management
▪ Practices aseptic and sterile techniques
▪ Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for: quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency.
▪ Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation compliance requirements.
▪ Maintain instrument calibration, documentation, and procedures
▪ Initiate corrective actions requests when appropriate
▪ Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities
▪ QA a mean average of 150 trays per workweek
▪ Applies appropriate cleaning techniques in the sterile processing
▪ Participates during the procedure auditing the trays and assessing the instruments for return
▪ Restocks supplies for return cart
▪ Assists with In-service and training of new personnel

▪ Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable
▪ Support in decontamination as instructed or required by management
▪ Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience:
• Minimum five (5) years of Sterile Processing experience.
• IAHCSMM/HSPA or CBSPD Central Sterile Processing Technician Certification.
• 1 year of SPD Supervisor experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledgeable of and in compliance with all applicable infection control, health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department and/or work unit and the Medical Center.
• Must be able to work in a cooperative manner.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Asset management systems.
• Thorough knowledge of the operation of instruments and equipment in the department.
• Thorough knowledge of aseptic technique principles and ability to apply such principles when orienting staff at hospitals.
