Quality Assurance Coordinator - Healthcare plans, coordinates, and implements the quality management and quality improvement programs for a healthcare facility. Quality Assurance Assistant

  • The quality assurance assistant is responsible for monitoring and maintaining systems to ensure that the physical plant and all products manufactured by the organization meet or exceed regulatory, company, and or customer specifications and expectations.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Monitors plant HACCP program to include all supporting pre-requisite programs, policies and procedures, including recall procedures.
    • Assists in maintaining Maple Donuts Erie specification book to ensure all personnel have an appropriate resource to guide in the production of quality products.
    • Conducts plant inspections separate/independent of the monthly food safety team inspections.
    • Knowledgeable of all equipment, scales, label and printing machines, box formers, closers and wrappers to ensure proper operation. Confers with maintenance management about necessary repairs or adjustments to equipment.
    • Maintains records with regard to product information such as: manufacturing date, time and production line.
    • Assists and creates proper nutritional and ingredient labeling to meet current or applicable standards for all products.
    • Assists with Kosher and Organic certification maintenance.
    • Assists in conducting tests of new or alternate suppliers and ingredients. Compares and records test results with company standards.
    • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives or inspectors, and/or government officials to discuss and resolve quality issues as required.
    • Accompany the QA/food safety manager during routine audits, self-inspections, third party inspections/audits, regulatory inspections/audits and customer inspections/audits including tours and visits.

    Essential Requirements:

    • A college degree (BS or BA) is preferable in a food related, manufacturing or business field. A high school diploma with a minimum of two years related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience) would be considered.
    • Direct experience with BRC, AIB, SQF or similar food industry production audits.
    • Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP principals, cGMPs, SOPs and SSOPs, Pest Control, Allergen Control & Recall programs).
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written.
    • Knowledge of FDA standards.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical process control, quality assurance techniques and tools and quality management principles in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
    • Strong PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
