FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT IN LANCASTER PA NEEDS A MID SHIFT LEAD QA TECHNICIAN OUT OF FOODS. MUST COME OUT OF FOODS. SHIFT HOURS ARE 11AM-8PM M-F WITH OVERTIME WHEN NEEDED. PAY RATE IS $25 HOURLY.

Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for carrying out SOP’S related to Food Safety and Quality. This includes document control, scanning documents, filing, data entry, lab work, and production floor presence.
• Responsible for processing and maintaining the Quality holds system by distributing, keeping track of status, and creating disposal or spillage document for Manager’ approval.
• Routinely monitor the production process as well as finished products using analytical methods to maintain product consistency and comply with established food safety and quality standards including but not limited to brix, weight, pH, viscosity, color, water activity, titratable acidity, and temperature.
• Perform and document audits on paper and computer.
• Perform equipment calibration as necessary following standard procedures.
• Communicate to 3rd party contractors verbally or via email.
• Communicate all out-of-compliance situations to the team as needed.
• Practice and adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines for safe housekeeping and personal protection. Keep all work areas clean, store laboratory supplies in designated areas, keep benches and aisles clear. Strictly adhere to safety procedures when handling chemicals and lab chemicals for testing.
• Conduct inspections of processing equipment before production and after product changeovers. Swab both food contact and non-food contact surfaces as required, and properly fill out paperwork.
• Maintain and update all vendor documents to meet SQF and FSMA requirements.
• Create customer documents such as COA.
• Prepare reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet database, or presentation software as required.
• Scan, verify and archive documentation and records. Ensure the correct and timely input of database entries.
• Set up product for sensory evaluation and distribute sensory evaluation information to QA Manager.

Education College degree in science related field, HACCP certification preferred.
